He was born in 1973 in Areeparambu, Cherthala, Alappuzha district, Kerala, India. Anoop is a great actor and is best known for his comic roles. He did numerous hit films which received him immense fame like  Rasathanthram (2006), Classmates (2006), and Shakespeare M.A. Malayalam (2008). He is also a social activist and was involved in many social issues. He is now the part of the famous reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1.

He is approximately 5’ 7” tall and weighs around 85 kg. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Family, Caste & Wife

Anoop was born into a middle-class family. He is Hindu by religion. He got married to Vinaya Chandran, and the couple has two daughters.

Career

Anoop Chandran did his schooling at Cherthala South Government High School, Cherthala and graduation at N.S.S. College, Cherthala. After completing studies, Anoop started getting training in acting from the School Of Drama & Fine Arts.

He got his first break in 2004 in director Ranjith’s Malayalam film, Black as Pauly. In 2014, he judged the comedy reality TV show Lunars Comedy Express that aired on Asianet. In 2017, he received the Asianet Comedy Award for Best Actor for his role in the TV serial Aluvayum Mathicurryum.

In 2018, Anoop took part in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1. He gets paid ₹70,000 per day to be in the Bigg Boss Malayalam house.

Controversies

• In 2013, Anoop arrested for disrupting the meeting of Youth Congress in Cherthala. In the same year, Youth Congress supporters lodged an FIR against Anoop by alleging that he was indulged in a fight with them and used abusive language. Later, they withdrew both the complaints.

• In 2017, he alleged that actor Dileep who arrested in the abduction and sexual assault case of an Indian actress had tried several times to destroy his film career. During the case investigation by the Special Investigation Team, he said in the statement ”Dileep’s fury had cost him his career.”
